“I spent three pleasant days in Colorado at the first annual Rocky Mtn. AudioFest recently. Due to an amplifier "emergency" in the Symposium Acoustics room (where I was hanging out) they were kindly loaned a spare pair of Red Rock Audio Renaissance tubed monoblocks which totally made the room come alive. I had to investigate further... Fortunately up the hall from Symposium was the Red Rock room and its two mavens, Al Stiefel and designer Gordon Maughan.

This room had some of the best sound at the show; Red Rock electronics and the big new ESP Concert Grand's. I spent much time in there marveling over the sound of these amazing amps. Truly some awesome sound. And WOW, the looks! Beautiful design. I got to nose around Gordon's home workshop (this WAS friendly Denver after all) and I can tell you that his devotion to his craft is truly commendable. One can only dream but if the Red Rock Renaissance monoblocks fell out of the sky and into my mastering room I would be truly in tube heaven! I highly recommend these.” |
